Biography
"Being raised with the dominating presence of mountains in West Virginia, which dwarfed the man-made buildings, has affected the content of my realistic paintings. My work explores expressive differences in scale, the relationship of interiors and exteriors, and the merging of several realities within the same piece. A sense of history and place and the use of metaphor are recurring concerns. I continue to explore a vision of buildings as containers of human experience and drama. They are metaphors for the transitory quality of our culture."
