Hathor
Join us on December 3rd 2022 from 5-8pm for Drew Ernst’s Hathor
“Hathor is one of the most popular goddesses of ancient Egypt. She was often depicted in the form of a cow symbolizing music, joy, sexuality and love. This show was born out of the original title painting (Hathor) and kept going from there. The energy came from working on the smaller scale pieces. In Rappahannock County where the bovine population outnumbers that of humans, I thought it prescient to paint how cows are viewed throughout the world - from prized cows in the Alps to those of the Mundari tribe of African cattle herders to one defeating a Spanish bullfighter.”
