Terry Miller was born in Iowa and went to school in New Jersey, graduating from art school with a degree in design. He worked as an architectural draftsman in Manhattan before moving south to work as a teacher with mentally disturbed children in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Miller began to sharpen his drawing skills with the medium of graphite. In 1990, he decided to stop teaching in order to become a full-time professional graphite artist.  Since devoting more time to his work, Terry has received major awards for his captivating drawings, and has his work featured in collections across the world. Terry is inspired by his travels across North America and Africa. He now resides in central Maryland where he continues to draw.
