"Working on a piece, I  have no idea what the finished product will look like, but that’s a good thing. I find a page in an old book with an image I can use, or a design I can alter; I'm inspired to make something new out of it. I combine different sources of inspiration, tribal imagery, graphic design, portraiture, and vintage photos/books; subjects that aren’t usually seen together. I see a parallel between art and music. Working on a song will give me ideas for an art piece, and if I feel like I can’t express a certain concept in my music making, I can turn to visual art and make something of it. This show is a compilation of a year’s worth of work in an independent study art class at my high school."
