Woodberry TV Hill by Christine Sajecki
Sajecki's paintings depict the landscape, history and texture of her Baltimore neighborhood - - a formerly independent mill town called Woodberry, or TV Hill. The paintings mark the artist's homecoming after ten years spent living in Baltimore neighborhoods and in Savannah, Georgia.
Structures and materials of the homes, factories and radio towers, recall memories of an American migratory movements, manufacturing and industry. Painted over four seasons, each painting compresses a small spiral of that history - both of place and observer.
